Diving in Zanzibar is considered a bucket list for many and Mnemba Atoll is regarded as the best diving area in Zanzibar with excellent visibility of 20 to 30 metres. Mnemba Atoll is a diver’s paradise, home to floral coral gardens and many different species of fish such as puffer fish, frogfish, jackfish, Napoleon fish.
The breathtaking marine ecosystem is famous for sightings of green turtles and dolphins that like to join you as you snorkel or dive while the seasonal migrating whale sharks and humpback whales announce their presence with an occasional spout of water. With water temperatures averaging around 27’c and excellent visibility, diving is most enjoyable. Mnemba is a world-famous conservation area featuring a 7km by 4km reef containing the tiny island. Accessible only by boat, Mnemba is located North East of Zanzibar Island, opposite the fishing village of Matemwe.

Launched in 2018, Linda Bahari Zanzibar aims to repopulate Coral reefs suffering from global warming and destruction, engaging the local community by way of ownership and education. Â Communities are offered three month internships where they are taught scuba diving, marine conservation and beach cleanups.
