Description

This 7 Day Raft The Mighty Zambezi is a bucket list adventure for any rafter. The Zambezi River is widely considered to be the very best White Water Rafting in the world. A deep channeled, high volume river, the Zambezi has class 3 – 5 rapids interspersed with tranquil pools. Sleep out under the stars and immerse yourself in what could possibly be, your adventure of a lifetime.

The Zambezi is home to what is arguably one of the best white water rivers on earth. Foaming white water flowing with grade 5 rapids ready to throw you out into the murky depths of the mighty Zambezi makes this adventure one of TribalTourists top 10 Legendary Expeditions to do in Africa.

From the start of your adventure beneath Victoria Falls, this trip has it all. Great fun, warm white water rapids, stunning beaches to camp, a spectacular lodge to spend your last night in as well as a stunning helicopter ride through the Batoka gorge retracing the route you took by raft. Zambia is so much more than a natural wonder and a river. You’ll see incredible wildlife during your adventure, sometimes even from your hotel.

Lusaka Zambia

Lusaka is a cosmopolitan city sitting at about 1,279 meters (4,196 ft) on a limestone plateau. One in ten Zambians lives here, many surviving on selling their wares or services at busy markets. There is a burgeoning local art scene, an elephant orphanage, botanical gardens, and a reptile park outside of town, but the city is surrounded by farmland and mainly serves as a gateway to game reserves and parks in other parts of Africa.

Victoria Falls Zambia

Vic Falls, as it is affectionately abbreviated to, is known as the adventure capital of Africa, with any number of outdoor and adventure activities to choose from. As well as world-class white water rafting, there is one of the world's highest bungee jumps, skydiving, swing slides, helicopter rides and more.

Lower Zambezi National Park

You have the option to end your trip with a 3 day safari in the Lower Zambezi National Park (This is an added expense. Contact TribalTourist for more details).

UNESCO declared several areas of the Lower Zambezi World Heritage sites, mainly because it is home to a ‘remarkable concentration of wildlife’. Think: mind-blowing herds of elephants and buffaloes, an impressive population of Nile crocodiles, plus predators such as lions, leopards and the African wild dog. Together with the wildlife, there is the big blue Zambezi River. Flowing gently due to its subtle gradient, it is perfect for canoeing.
